Me on a good day....

This week, I worked five days non-stop. I listened to countless parents who were unhappy with one aspect or another of their child's school experience so far this school year. I listened to some teachers who were elated at how well their year was starting, and listened to others who were as miserable as they were on the last day of school in June. (What the hell did they do all summer to still be so crabby????) My cell phone ran out of juice at 12:30 on Monday, but by Friday, I was still on one bar at 4pm.

The landscaper hit a gas line in my front yard on Thursday. I had no gas service because the plumber that the landscaper had come to fix the line didn't leave the hole in my yard open so that the gas company could inspect the work. I had a cold shower on Friday morning.

I found out I had gas service again on Friday afternoon. The babysitter called on my cell phone while I was waiting for the police to show up after I ran into the back of a city pick-up truck, after coming to a complete stop at a red light. While trying to recover the sandal that slipped off the brake pedal, I accidentally hit the accelerator. The hitch on the back of the truck impaled the bumper of my 5 month old car. I was cited. I have a ticket for $95 and a $250 deductible on my insurance policy.

I cried. It was all I could do at 3pm on Friday afternoon when I was already stressed beyond the legal limit.

So that's what's been going on with me. They can take the target off my back anytime now...
