It's been a while...

Probably time for a status check/update:

Still with Crash.

Still crazy at work.

Still running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to keep up with the kids.

Still trying to find enough time to take care of myself (ie eat right, get to the gym, shave...)

See, I can go away for a long time and just about nothing has changed! LOL!

On a more serious note, I'm starting to get good and sick of trying to make everything work all on my own. The house needs a man around to do all the odd jobs that have accumulated while I've been trying to keep up with life. I guess I need to just grow up and get familiar with some power tools, but it sure would be nice if I didn't have to. I'm getting ready to put my house on the market in the spring, and there's so much I need to do to be ready to do that, but on the weekends, I just need time to decompress and vegatate.

I don't want to get married again. I like the way my life works, most of the time, but this household management role is beyond me.

Me on a good day....

This week, I worked five days non-stop. I listened to countless parents who were unhappy with one aspect or another of their child's school experience so far this school year. I listened to some teachers who were elated at how well their year was starting, and listened to others who were as miserable as they were on the last day of school in June. (What the hell did they do all summer to still be so crabby????) My cell phone ran out of juice at 12:30 on Monday, but by Friday, I was still on one bar at 4pm.

The landscaper hit a gas line in my front yard on Thursday. I had no gas service because the plumber that the landscaper had come to fix the line didn't leave the hole in my yard open so that the gas company could inspect the work. I had a cold shower on Friday morning.

I found out I had gas service again on Friday afternoon. The babysitter called on my cell phone while I was waiting for the police to show up after I ran into the back of a city pick-up truck, after coming to a complete stop at a red light. While trying to recover the sandal that slipped off the brake pedal, I accidentally hit the accelerator. The hitch on the back of the truck impaled the bumper of my 5 month old car. I was cited. I have a ticket for $95 and a $250 deductible on my insurance policy.

I cried. It was all I could do at 3pm on Friday afternoon when I was already stressed beyond the legal limit.

So that's what's been going on with me. They can take the target off my back anytime now...

Donning my black and going into mourning...

I go back to work tomorrow, after 5 too-short weeks of vacation. My summer is now dearly departed.

And I'm starting off with a bang, because I'm doing my rookie faciliation of the professional development model we brought in from North Carolina in February. I'm the "associate" facilitator, and the read I get is that if I do a good enough job, the organization will send me to their national facilitator development academy.

I'm really nervous. I've been nervous just doing the on-site coordination of the trainings the last two times, and this time I'm adding actual delivery to the coordination. I haven't eaten all day, and then darn AF showed up three days early just for kicks. Like I need anything else to worry about...sigh.

So I'm doing what any sensible working woman with no kids at home tonight would do. I'm going out for mexican and margaritas! But only a couple...gotta be sharp as a tack tomorrow morning, right?
